Mario was born and raised in Providence, RI. He resided in Greenville for the past ten years.
A retired Air Force Veteran, Mario owned and operated Gentile Builders for many years until retiring in 1990 at the age of 62. He was an avid cook (famous for his pizza) and he loved to care for everyone and was loved by all.
He was preceded in death by his wife Columbia “Connie” (Iacchei) Gentile and his daughter Kathleen M. Gentile, 11 siblings, and two great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his brother Salvatore Gentile of Cranston, his daughter Gail and her husband Dana Ericksson of Glocester, and his partner Joyce Harnish also of Greenville.
Mario leaves behind 5 grandchildren, Lisa Nadeau-Labbe and her husband Chris of Concord, NH, Sandra, Aaron, and Chandler Ericksson of Glocester and Deanna Ericksson of West Warwick. He was the great-grandfather of Connie, Nicholas, Noah, and Preston.
He also leaves behind many great-nieces and nephews and will be sorely missed by all.
Visitation will be held Friday at 10:30 AM in the Truth Tabernacle, 542 Potters Avenue, Providence, with a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
Church parking lot is located on Hawthorne Street behind the church.
