Décédé paisiblement le 9 janvier 2021 à l’Hôpital Général d'Ottawa à l’âge de 82 ans. Il était le fils de feu Joseph Jeaurond et d’Alida Houle, et l’époux bien-aimé de Louise Grenier Jeaurond. Il laisse dans le deuil ses enfants Yves, Pierre (Brigitte Corriveau) et Marie-Paule (Stephen Kerr-Smith). Papi adoré de Marie-France (Georges Laguë), Sophie-Catherine (François Ménard), Isabelle (Stefaan Dutil), Xavier, Benoît et Julie-Anne et ses deux arrière-petits-enfants Maxime et Olivier. Il laisse également son frère Claude (Rita) et son frère défunt Roland (Rosemary) ainsi que de nombreux neveux, nièces et ami(e)s.
Après avoir complété ses études à l’Université d’Ottawa, il a travaillé au sein de la fonction publique fédérale pendant plus de trois décennies, œuvrant entre-autre au ministère du Secrétariat d’État, sous le mentorat de Jules Léger en tant que Directeur du protocole officiel au Canada.
Passionné de la littérature française, avide lecteur et collectionneur de beaux livres, il a vécu dans l’amour du cinéma, de la culture et du voyage. Une bonne table lui a souri souvent.
Les restrictions sociales font qu’il n’y aura pas de service religieux jusqu’à nouvel ordre.

Gaëtan Robert JEAUROND, born September 3rd, 1938
Passed away peacefully on January 9, 2021 at the Ottawa General Hospital at the age of 82. Son of the late Joseph Jeaurond and the late Alida Houle, and husband of his beloved Louise Grenier Jeaurond. He leaves in mourning his children Yves, Pierre (Brigitte Corriveau) and Marie-Paule (Stephen Kerr-Smith). Beloved Papi to Marie-France (Georges Laguë), Sophie-Catherine (François Ménard), Isabelle (Stefaan Dutil), Xavier, Benoît and Julie-Anne and two great grandchildren, Maxime and Olivier. Predeceased by his brother Roland (Rosemary), he leaves his brother Claude (Rita) as well as many nephews, nieces and friends.
After completing his studies at the University of Ottawa, he worked in the Federal Public Service for over three decades. Among many mandates, he served at the Department of Secretary of State as Director of State Protocol and Special Events while mentored by Jules Léger.
His love of French literature informed his avid reading and book collecting; he was also passionate about motion pictures, culture, travel and great food.
Due to the current social restrictions, a religious service has not been scheduled. Further notice will be given at the appropriate time.
