George Davidek, age 67, of Marco Island, Florida, passed away on January 10, 2021. The improper administration of medication prior to undergoing surgery led to numerous complications and ultimately George’s tragic death. George fought so hard and bravely for 5 months but died peacefully at home with Donna and his dog, Zac, by his side.
Beloved husband, partner and soulmate of Donna Davidek (nee Sproule); loving Dad to Kim Podolak (Jeff) Lewis and Brian (Rosalia) Podolak; cherished and adored GrandDad (PawPaw/UBOB) of Brianna, Giulianna and Zoe; five siblings who George loved deeply, one sister; Karen (Mike) Walker of Gatlinburg, TN; and four brothers, Jimmy (Deborah) Davidek of Auburn, WA, Jerry (Linda) Davidek of Cottondale, AL, Eddy (Becky) Davidek of Melbourne, FL and Billy (Amanda) Davidek of Bolingbrook, IL; cherished uncle to numerous nieces and nephews; adoring nephew to Georgia (Lou) Violet of Cornell, WI; fond cousin to many and family to Teresa Di Franco and Ross Lombardi (Chris). George was preceded in death by his parents, Ed Davidek and Pauline (Bennett) Davidek.
George was born in Chicago, IL and moved with his family to Bolingbrook, IL, were he was raised, met and married Donna. George and Donna moved to Marco Island, FL more than 30 years ago. Florida is where George found his true happiness. Marco Island was George’s favorite place to be. George spent his entire career in the construction industry. He loved building things and even built the home where he and Donna live. No words can describe how much George loved his home!
George truly enjoyed people. He was a friend to many and loved to entertain. Family and his granddaughters were the focal point of George’s life. He was infinitely proud of his granddaughters! George also loved everything about the water, including fishing, boating and swimming. He enjoyed music, singing and playing the guitar. George was smart, fun, animated and so very memorable. George truly embraced life; and he will be missed by everyone who knew him. George/PawPaw/UBOB, you will be in our hearts forever.
