Bobbie Sue Daniell Goldin, 89, of Lexington, SC died Monday, January 4, 2021. She was the beloved daughter of the late Isaac Nathaniel and Delia Williams Daniell of Buchanan, Georgia. She was a 1948 graduate of Buchanan High School and a 1950 graduate of West Georgia College. She retired from the US Dept. of Agriculture’s Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service.
Bobbie was a life-long Methodist and had been an active member of Lexington United Methodist Church since moving to South Carolina in 1962. She was especially fond of her duties preparing communion for her church family. She loved sitting in an aisle seat so she could distribute hugs and well wishes on Sunday mornings.
In addition to her parents, Bobbie was predeceased by her sweetheart and husband of fifty-five years, Curtis F. Goldin; a sister, Mildred D. Holcomb of Buchanan, Georgia and a brother, Rex I. Daniell of Jersey, Georgia.
She is survived by her children, Debbie G. and Phil Dooley of Lexington and Danny E. Goldin of Lancaster, SC. Bobbie is also survived by her grandchildren to whom she was lovingly known as “Mimi”: Christopher and Ashley M. Dooley of Lexington, Benjamin Goldin of Columbia, Rachel G. and Josh Peake of Lexington, Mary Elizabeth Goldin of Winnsboro, Taylor and Courtney S. Dooley of Leesville, and Joseph Goldin of Greer. “Mimi” was especially proud of her great-grandchildren, Connor and Jacob Dooley, Ava Grace Peak, Conor, Caleb, Ellie and Kinsley Goldin. In addition, Bobbie is survived by her ‘daughter-in-love’, Jorene Decell of Lexington.
Bobbie was a woman of strong and abiding faith. She knew the power of prayer and kept the lines of communication open with her Lord through a rich and disciplined prayer life. Her prayers of intercession on behalf of her family were our finest treasure. “Pray about it” was her motto. Bobbie faced her final years of physical and mental decline with grace and peace that came from knowing Whose she was and where she was going. She spent her entire life readying herself for January 4, 2021.
The family would like to thank the many kind and loving caregivers who helped our mother through her last years: Selena Wise, Daybreak Adult Care Services, Morningside Assisted Living, FirstLight Home Care, Carroll Campbell Place. There are, indeed, angels among us.
Due to COVID-19, the family will celebrate Bobbie’s life with a private service and committal on Saturday, January 16, 2021. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lexington United Methodist Church, 309 East Main St., Lexington, SC 29072.
Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
