Tancredi Fernando Spagnolo, 87, of Rocky Hill, passed due to this horrible pandemic on January 11, 2021. Sadly he was robbed of many more golden years with his family and friends. Born September 17, 1933 in Roccasale, Italia, he is now reunited with his parents, Antonio and Catarina Spagnolo, his brother, Fernando Spagnolo, his son Antonio Spagnolo and his granddaughter Jayne Spagnolo. They all await for him in Heaven.
Tancredi came to the U.S. 57 years ago with his loving wife Antoinetta and their two children. Neither of them knew how to speak English or where they were going to live. He found the work that other people wouldn’t do, couldn’t do, and were too scared to do. Eventually he learned to speak halfway decent English, and they were blessed with two additional children. He raised a beautiful family of four with nothing more than a 4th grade education because at the time, in Italy, food was more important than an education. For 31 years, he was a hardworking and dedicated employee at Wiremold Manufacturing. In addition he was a member of the Pratolana Society of Hartford. He was truly an amazing man who throughout his lifetime touched so many lives. He and Antoinetta spent the past thirty winters in Venice, Florida where he met and made many friends.
In addition to his beloved Antoinette, he leaves his children, Gino Spagnolo, Cathy Molitoris and Mauro Spagnolo, his cherished grandchildren, Cameron and Cassandra Molitoris and his son-in-law Craig Molitoris.
Tancredi was just a good all-around man, a devoted husband, father and nonno, his family always came first. He lived his life believing in family, God, garden, and homemade wine. He was never one to judge, it didn’t matter what you did or what may have happened in your past, you were always welcome in his home. He was excited to live life every day and that is exactly what he did, although there was a lot of heartbreak, more than he ever deserved, he still woke up happy. They don’t make men like him anymore, he is definitely the end of an era and we love him more than words could ever begin to describe. We will miss dearly every day for the rest of our lives, love you pa.
The family will receive relatives and friends (TODAY), Friday, January 22nd from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield.
