Mona Sue Biggs Lancaster, a devout Christian, 86, of Bedford, Texas was called home to Heaven on Sunday, January 3, 2021. She was affectionately known by her grandchildren and great grandchildren as Grandma, Meemo and Bigmo, her most favorite titles in life.
Mona was born in Hereford, Texas on May 31, 1934. She graduated from Midland High School and attended North Texas State University in Denton, Texas. She married Newlin Lancaster and moved to Brownsville, Texas where she raised her five children.
She was a loving, caring, funny and devoted daughter, sister, mother and grandmother and will be missed deeply by her family. Mona was truly a people person who never met a stranger. She loved spending time with family, especially going out to eat. Her favorite cuisine was Mexican food and undoubtedly, none of her family will pass a Rosa's restaurant and not think of her fondly.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Newlin Lancaster, II and Mara Lancaster, daughter and son-in-law Connie and Jim Moore, daughter Robin Muniz, son and daughter-in-law Barry and D'Anne Lancaster and son and daughter-in-law Paul and Toni Lancaster.
She also leaves behind her twelve precious grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Lorenza Lancaster, Alessandra and husband Pablo Zapata, Natalia Lancaster, Jimmy and Julia Moore, Ethan Black and Lucas Muniz, Alisse and Amanda Lancaster, Emilee, Lauren and Katelyn Lancaster and Beckett and Sawyer Black.
She was preceded in death by her father, John H. Biggs, mother, Pauline Biggs and sister, Shirley Biggs McCollum and Newlin Lancaster.
Private graveside service for family and interment at Fairview Cemetery, Midland, Texas.
