James George Hobales, 91 years young, married twice to two beautiful women Florence Hobales and Nancy Estock Hobales. He was born in Elmira, New York August 27, 1929. He grew up in Darby, Pa, drove the milk wagon and fell in love with horses from that moment on. He then went on to ride on the back of the train every day to the closest track to work on the horses and smooze his way in to learn how to ride. We visited in 2017 and he saw the same train running the same tracks, warmed his heart. He rode in Saratoga in the 50's Belmont, Monmouth, and maybe a little at Aqueduct.
In the late 60, early 70's he worked in Florida, Hialeah Race Track, Tropical, Gulfstream, but mostly Calder. He worked at Calder Race Track for 70 years, he was so proud to be a part of Calder Race Track, it was a true love of his. Jimmy was also an entertainer and played his Harmonica for anyone and everyone.
Our Father was predeceased by his Parents George Hobales and Georgia Stathakis, John Hobales brother, his wife Florence Hobales, second wife Nancy Hobales, he was survived by his three incredible sons Jim Scott & Lourdes Hobales, Jeff Hobales, John Hobales, daughter Jackie Hobales, his one and only beautiful granddaughter Nicole Hobales, His three handsome grandsons, James Hobales, Mark Hobales, Andrew Hobales, his two grandogs Maison, Dexter. He also had step children Stephanie and Julie, Zach, Dillian, Cody. He loved each and everyone of his family members unconditionally.
