Family and friends called her Ann or Annie. She had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved to make people laugh and be the center of attention. There are so many friends and family members that have story after story of her making them laugh until their stomachs hurt. She also had a beautiful voice and loved to sing, and she loved to dance to country & western music.
She graduated from Fox Tech High School where she began her love of dance; she fondly talked about being a Red Jacket (dance team). After high school she attended beauty school to become a beautician. In her early 20’s she was a cosmetic representative and buyer for Helena Rubenstein & Max Factor; later she worked for J.C. Penny for over 15 years and spent another 10 years working for doctors as a medical billing clerk. After this, she spent several years being the best Mamo to her grandchildren, Peyton, Jordan and Emily.
Ann and Lynn loved to fish and hunt and go camping. They enjoyed 11 years together. She was a dedicated Spurs fan (some would say “fanatic”) and never missed a game!
The family wants to give their greatest and warmest gratitude to the many healthcare workers at Alamo Heights Health & Rehabilitation Center, especially Nikki, Monica, Juana, Susie, Melissa and everyone else who cared for her. They are grateful to be able to spend their last moments with her, she spoke to her son, daughter, grandchildren and said she loved them all, and even put her hand on Nikki’s face and said “I love you baby”.
A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 12:00 Noon at Sunset Funeral Home at 6321 Bandera with a small reception to follow at the Springhill Suites Medical NW – 3636 NW Loop 410, 78201.
