Hilda and her husband Robert were such wonderful people. I had fun taking care of paco their parrot. They treated him like a baby. May she Rest In Peace 

One of the many memories I have of Ema Lala is her round flour tortillas, a skill that I never mastered (Wal-mart for me).  She would make them and after work we would go and have warm, freshly made tortillas with butter from a squeezable bottle.  Lots of good memories is what we have of Ema Lala that keeps us going. RIP

Some of the memories I cherish the most are the times I spent in Ema Lala’s garden, picking grapes, tomatoes, apricots, and peaches.  I also enjoyed watching her paint ceramics and caring for her birds.  Her sense of humor and facial expressions made the time I spent with her even more enjoyable.  My daughter, Sophia, enjoyed spending time with her and loved her sense of humor too.  When we left her house we had a tradition, my dad would honk the horn twice and we would wave goodbye, happy to have made great memories.  Ema Lala heard her final two honks on January 11 and waved goodbye to us with a smile.  May she Rest in Peace. 

May she RIP . We will miss her smile and we will never forget the love she had for all of us , but especially our son , Moises ,her grandnephew, that we named after her brother that died at a young age . She was always asking about my son and praying for him . Love you Tia  Hilaría May you rejoice in seeing your family and especially your brother Moises .RIP ♥️🙏🏼

A lovely lady.  We enjoyed celebrating her birthdays sending a card every year.

My fondest memory of Hilda is her beautiful smile, twinkle in her eye and always having something good to say about you. Let’s not forget her red lipstick!!! Love you rest in our Lord’s arms

Watching her make flour tortillas, eating her homemade refried beans with cheese, laughing in Empa's van on the drive back to El Paso from the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and me yelling "Empa" and she yelling "Viejo" while trying to fix a sink are just some memories that come to mind.

The definition of a grandmother is "the mother of one's father . . ." but no definition can fully define what a grandmother really is and what impact she has on one's life.  

It is said that "you don't know what you have until it's gone."  I know what I had, I had Ema Lala.
