Gone but not forgotten.  We had such good times growing up in the Flippen community and spending the night with each other.  Walking up dirt roads and playing in the creeks.  Making use of what we had and not asking for more.  I miss all those days but I will see her again someday.

My deepest sympathy to all of Betty Jo’s family.  I know how much she will be missed.  Betty Jo and I were two of the Flippen families that grew up together.   We became friends at an early age and had so much fun together.  I would spend the night with Betty Jo and I remember we would go to the spring behind the house where the milk was kept cool.  There was not too many refrigerators back then  and not a lot of electricity but every family made do with what they had.  It was hard, but those were the good old days for me.   Keep all your memories close.  Rest In Peace, Betty Jo.

My heartfelt condolences to you all!  I have fond memories of your mother from our Salem Baptist Church days.  My parents thought the world of both she and your Dad. Mama is now in Valdosta to be closer to me but sends her love.  Continued prayers !

So sorry to hear of the loss of your Mother. She and your Dad were fine pillars of the Henry County and McDonough community and will always be remembered as such. They were FINE people!! Our deepest condolences go out to Mal and the family !!

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Fort.  I remember her and her husband Mr. Bill Fort.  They were some of the pillars of the community.  May the Lord be with their children and grandchildren at this time.

I have so many memories of Betty Jo from when I was young.  She and Bill never failed to step up and take care of me when my Dad was in the hospital for long periods. They always treated me like one of their own . I know it was a big relief for my mom not to have to worry about me when I was with them . But my best memories came from the times our parents got together for coffee while we played. That’s what I thought about when I heard she had passed. That now maybe they can all meet for coffee again . Mal, Kevin, and Ally my heart goes out to y’all. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.

Such pleasant memories of Betty Jo. I grew up just up the road and spent many hours at the table and running the woods near her home (at the time). Across East Lake Road from my grandparents- Cecil Steele home.

So sorry for your loss. Mrs.Betty was a sweet lady that helped me get my first job back in 1980 at Henry General Hospital when I was 16.  I went on to work there the next 23 years. She was the best Human Resource director we ever had. Prayers for your family.
