Betty Alta Hambling

Our loving mother, Betty Alta Hambling (Garner), passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026 in her home and moved from there to Heaven surrounded by the love of her children Janice Norton (Robert), Betty Schroeder, (Mark) and Chuck Hambling (Elaine) and many of her 12 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Waiting for her at the Pearly Gates was Jesus, her one and only loving husband Charles, her mother Alta, and her grandson Zachary. Oh, what a time of rejoicing that must have been!

Betty's greatest joy in this life was her family and serving God. Betty and her husband Charles bought the Christ Centered Book and Music Store in Fort Myers, Florida in 1975 with the heartfelt mission to serve the Lord and the community. They were both incredible givers to those in need and always wanted to share their love for God. Betty was a peacemaker, a defender of the underdog, and always wanted to help bring about a peaceful ending.

But let's not forget even though she was the serious to her husband's funny, at times she could really let the silly out! We rejoice in the life Betty lived on this earth and more importantly the life she is now living in Heaven!

A private family memorial will be held at a later date when Betty is laid to rest along her predeceased and beloved husband Charles at Coral Ridge Memorial Park and Cremation Gardens, 950 Chiquita Boulevard S, Cape Coral, Florida 33991, (239) 283-0540.
