In the early hours of March 24, 2023, Aaron Blais passed away unexpectedly at Central Maine Medical Center after a brief illness. He was surrounded by loved ones, including his wife, his mom and his brother. Aaron was 41 years old.
Aaron Justin Blais was born March 7, 1982, in Lewiston, Maine. He was the firstborn son to Suzanne C. Vallieres Blais and the late Marcel Joseph Blais. They welcomed their second son four years later, Aaron’s younger brother, Kasey Jordan Blais.
Growing up, Aaron attended local elementary and middle school, where he met most of his life long friends. He was an avid sports fan of all professional New England teams and beyond, and played many youth sports in the local Lewiston/Auburn area. He learned to play the drums and trumpet in his younger years, and carried his love of music throughout his life.
He attended Lewiston High School with his future wife, although neither of them knew it at the time. They would reunite many years later to go on their first date (although Aaron was oblivious to that detail!) Aaron and Amy were perfect for one another. They were married on April 28, 2018, and had a wonderful life together with their two cats, Pasta and Charlie, and the late “Kitten”. They loved to travel near and far, enjoying local beaches and lighthouses up and down the Maine coast, and embracing their inner child most recently by traveling to Disney World.
Aaron was a hard worker. From the age of 15, he worked with many of his lifelong friends at Michael’s Pool ‘n Patio (now Premier Pools & Spas) where he enjoyed building pools in the summer sun, bringing smiles and laughs to his co-workers and customers. On an occasional Friday or Saturday night, you would find Aaron holding down the fort at the Blue Goose Tavern, where he worked on and off as a door man for many years. Most recently, Aaron joined his father-in-law Paul at F.W. Webb Company in Lewiston, where he continued to bring laughter and smiles to everyone he met.
Aaron had an incredibly huge heart, a quick wit and a magnetic personality. He was the life of the party, a natural comedian, with a God-given gift to make people laugh. He was intelligent, sarcastic, thoughtful and kind. He spoke his truth, whether you wanted to hear it or not. He had an infectious laugh and an unforgettable smile. He gave enormous bear hugs which he shared freely. He was a friend to all.
Aaron was preceded in death by his father Marcel Blais, maternal grandparents Charles and Bernadette Vallieres, and paternal grandparents Antonio and Juliette Blais.
Aaron is lovingly remembered, and survived by, his wife Amy Marie Blais, mother Sue Blais, brother Kasey Blais and his wife Anastasia, his very special Aunt Nance Vallieres, Uncle Gary Vallieres, parents-in-law Paul and Ellen Baillargeon, sister-in-law Tracy Parent and her husband Joel, along with his cherished nieces and nephews - Amelia, Logan and Ashton (children of Kasey and Anastasia) and Beckett and Clara (children of Tracy and Joel). In addition, paternal aunts Doris Soucy, Connie Kell and Murielle Guay and paternal uncle Toby Blais, beloved cousins, and close friends that Aaron considered family.
Aaron’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday April 1, 2023, from 1:00pm - 5:00pm at The Fortin Group, 217 Turner St, Auburn, Maine. Feel free to pay homage to this great man by wearing his favorite band or sports team apparel.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in remembrance of Aaron to the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society, 55 Strawberry Ave., Lewiston, ME 04240.
