After high school, Johnnie joined the Navy where he proudly served for 4 years. After being honorably discharged, Johnnie pursued a career path in machine and automotive maintenance. Eventually, Johnnie pursued a lifelong career in building and landscaping maintenance in various areas in Fountain, Colorado, Orlando, Florida, and Colorado Springs, Colorado through 2013.
Johnnie was known for being a jack of all trades in all the best ways. He possessed a natural ability for automotive and machine technology that led to professional and amateur endeavors in his life. When he wasn’t watching the Daytona 500 – he was demonstrating his athleticism by running the toughest marathons in the country including the Pike’s Peak Ascent, The Marine Corps Marathon, and the Rock N’ Roll Marathon. These were only a few among the dozens he completed successfully. Furthermore, Johnnie had a passion and an appreciation for all music whether it was graceful classical symphonies or upbeat rock, it became one of the many hobbies that made Johnnie smile.
Above all else, Johnnie was known for his grit, devotion, and compassion. As a brother and caregiver, Johnnie demonstrated exceptional loyalty to his siblings. This was especially shown in him becoming the primary caregiver to his beloved brother Robert Banda. As an uncle, his love for his nieces and nephews was unwavering as he was present for every milestone. Johnnie was a wonderful person who showed care and love for many – he will be greatly missed.
Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brothers Robert & Lino, his sisters Chris, Frances, and Mary, 6 nephews, 4 nieces, and many great nieces and great nephews.
Johnnie left this Earthly life too soon, but he will always be in his family’s hearts. His family wishes you to consider donating to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital in his name in lieu of flowers.
