Born on March 28, 1948 in Harrisburg, PA, son of David F. Zeiders and Dorothy C. (Robinson) Zeiders.
He is preceded in passing by his sister Darlene Sworen and son-in-law David Brooks.
Surviving Ronald is his loving wife Barbara (Maurizzio) Zeiders; his children, Michael Zeiders, Darshann Buss-Zeiders, Brandy Zeiders (Kevin), Patricia Dixon, Becky Brooks and Jamie Cartwright (Andrew); nine grandchildren, Aidan, H. Mirandy, Harley Lynn, Dakota, Violet, Joseph, Logan, Jeanine and Ambellina; and great granddaughter, Anneliese. He is also survived by his niece Julie Sworen, as well as many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ronald was a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University where he had earned his Bachelor’s degree. He was also a graduate of Shippensburg University where he had received his Master’s and was working on his Doctorate in Early Childhood Education before having to retire. He spent much of his career as a school teacher for 5th and 6th grade and had a true passion for teaching. After retirement he began work at WellSpan Philhaven as a Therapeutic Support Specialist.
He was an avid Penn State football fan as well as the Buffalo Bills. He was a proud member of the “Bills Mafia”. His hobbies included bowling, golfing and playing computer games. Ronald also served as President of the Lower Dauphin Band Boosters. Most of all he loved spending time with his children and his grandchildren. It must be mentioned as well that he was crazy for his mashed potatoes and gravy, often asking for extra portions, and something his family remembers and jokes about fondly.
A celebration of Ronald’s life will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday September 26, 2026 at Neill Funeral Home; 3501 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111. There will be a time for receiving family and friends from 11:00am until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of South-Central PA.
