Of Jackson, Michigan, passed away on May 17, 2026, at the age of 85. He was born on March 1, 1941, in Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico to Atanacio Frausto-Farias and Loreto Montes-Pastrano.
Sixto was the kind of man whose steady devotion showed most clearly in the everyday ways he lived—through the care he took of his health on daily walks, the pride he felt in time spent with family, and the quiet joy he found in being present for the moments that mattered. He especially cherished his grandchildren and rarely missed their sporting events and milestone occasions, offering the sort of dependable support that becomes a lasting comfort to those who receive it. Sixto was married to his wife of 43 years, Maria-Guillermina Frausto in August 1980, until the time of her passing. A hardworking provider, Sixto was employed by Conrail for three years before working for Food City Pickle Company for 26 years, from which he retired. Outside of work, he found genuine satisfaction in the simple, generous pleasures of life. He enjoyed cooking—especially Spanish rice, tamales, and tacos—and he loved sports, including baseball and soccer. A devoted Detroit Tigers fan, he followed the game with enthusiasm and loyalty.
He is survived by his children, David Nall and Maria (Chester) Cunningham; his grandchildren, Audrey Munro, Allison Frausto, John Nall, and Landyn Cunningham; and his siblings, Jose A. Frausto-Montes and Ignacio Frausto-Montes. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maria-Guillermina Frausto, his children, John Nall and Abel Frausto; and his siblings, Jesus, Carmen, Leonor, Teresa, Josephina, Irene, Jose O., and Juan Frausto-Montes. Memorial visitation will be held at St. Stanislaus Kostka Chapel/Sacred Heart, 608 S. Elm Avenue, Jackson, Michigan, on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Kostka Chapel/Sacred Heart, 608 S. Elm Avenue, Jackson, Michigan, on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, beginning at 10:00 am.
