Don passed away peacefully in Longmont with family by his side on April 26, 2024. Don was born to Earl Stratton and Angela Bieker Stratton on April 23, 1939, in Greeley, Colorado.
He attended schools in Longmont, Colorado and was a member of Longmont High School Class of 1957. He later attended a Trade School to become a printer. He was a member of Master Printers of America and held several jobs in the Longmont, Denver and Boulder area.
Don married Sharon Pfeif Green (who he met at Bowliana Lanes in Longmont) on November 26, 1982, in Longmont, Colorado.
His interests were music (all kinds), reading, a fan of all the Colorado sports teams and, of course, bowling. Don started setting pins when he was 14 years old and started bowling leagues in 1958. He was the Secretary/Treasurer for the Regal Scratch League from 1960-1980. Don also was the tournament director for Longmont Men’s City Tournament from 1964-1980. Don was inducted into the Longmont Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1986 for Dedicated Service. He continued bowling many leagues and tournaments (Local, State and National) until his health required him to retire in 2008.
Don was the oldest of five brothers, Lyle, Gary (Sharron), Earl “Sonny”, Richard (Carol), all of whom grew up and still live in Longmont, Colorado.
Don is survived by his wife of 41 years Sharon Stratton, his four children, Leslie (Randy) Anway, Nicole (John) Bauer, Paul Stratton and Patrick (Kaylyn) Stratton, two stepchildren, Teresa Green Gilbert (Doug Lough) and Joseph Green, four grandchildren and one step grandchild, three great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces, all of whom will miss him dearly, including his dog Kookie.
Don was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Angela Stratton, aunts, uncles, cousins and his former wife Sharon Hall
