Michael Weiner left this life on the 4th of July, 2025. He was predeceased by his wife of 30 years and love of his life, Daphne Weiner, and is survived by his daughter, Deborah Raviv, his son, Joshua Weiner, his son-in-law, Adam Raviv, their children Daniel and Daphne Raviv and Declan Weiner, and his brother, Larry Weiner. He also leaves behind countless family members and friends.
Michael grew up in a Jewish family in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as the first son of Buddy and Norma Weiner. He went to Oberlin College in Ohio, and graduated from Jefferson Medical College as an M.D. After medical school, from 1971 – 1974, he was an Officer with the U.S. Navy Reserve (a “navy doc”) at the submarine base in Groton, Connecticut. He then moved to Miami, Florida to open his medical practice, where he practiced as an OB/GYN at Baptist Hospital. As an OB/GYN, Michael brought hundreds if not thousands of lives into this world.
Michael was a true family man, and family always came first. He was a lover of life and truly lived. Michael traveled the world from Asia, Europe, Africa and everywhere in between. In his younger years, he was an avid skier, a soccer player at Oberlin, a tennis and racquetball player, a scuba diver, and an accomplished fisherman, even catching a “grand slam” in Venezuela. In his later years, he was a dedicated golfer, often playing 7 days a week. He also played bridge, and loved taking his kids and grandkids on Disney cruises and other adventures.
Michael will be remembered as a loving, dedicated, and generous father, husband, and friend, who lived life to the fullest. He will be dearly missed.
