Claude Thomas Dupuis, Jr. passed away on April 30, 2024 at the age of 95. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on December 4, 1928. Claude graduated from St. Aloysius High School. He then attended Soule’ College and Loyola University before entering the workforce. He was an employee of Shell Oil Company, and then became the owner and operator of Angelo Gendusa Bakery. He was also an employee Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home.
He served in the United States Army’s Air Force as a Sergeant and was a WWII and Korean War Veteran. Claude was a parishioner of St. Louis King of France Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude T. Dupuis, Sr. and Lucille Copponex Dupuis; sister, Rosemary Hymel; and sister-in-law, Betty Rome.
Claude is survived by his wife of 73 years, Rosemary Dupuis; daughters, Diane Fayard (Gary) and Jane Henry (Donald); sons, Kevin Dupuis (Julie Carol Mumphrey), Michael Dupuis (Rebecca), Mark Dupuis (Glenda), and Paul Dupuis (Ashley); grandchildren, Amber Dupuis, Justin Dupuis (Mary Grace), Megan Lambert (Matt), Meredith Fox (Brendan), Molly Sauviac (Adam), Catherine Hoffman (Cory), Nicholas Dupuis, Corey Dupuis (Emmie), Rachel Dupuis (Matt), Grace Dupuis, Adam Dupuis, Cody Dupuis (Miah), Benjamin Dupuis, Cade Dupuis, Reiss Dupuis, Jaidyn Essick, Logan Henry, Victoria Henry, Kelsey Henry and Jonathan Dupuis (Camille).; great grandchildren, Brady Hoffman, Briggs Hoffman, Rhett Hoffman, Yasiel Dupuis, Samantha Dupuis, Savannah Dupuis, Jace Dupuis and Quinn Lambert.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 11:00AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00AM. After the chapel service, Claude will be laid to rest in Lake Lawn Park.
