Richard Winn Warner
July 23, 1953 - July 7,2025
Richard Winn Warner, 71, of Asheville, NC, passed away on July 7, 2025, in Orlando, FL, after a courageous two-year journey with heart disease. A master craftsman and proud Journeyman Carpenter, Richard spent most of his adult life in Las Vegas, where his skilled hands left their mark in countless homes and buildings. In recent years, he found comfort and joy in returning to the mountains of North Carolina, the place he always called home.
Richard was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Richard and Sally Warner of Asheville. He is survived by his three devoted sons; Richard II of Orlando, John of Asheville, and Christopher of Cottage Grove, each of whom he cherished deeply and spoke of with pride. His legacy continues through his four grandsons: Ricky, Jameson, Christopher, and Benjamin, and his two great-granddaughters: Soulene and Selah. He is also lovingly remembered by his sister, Rebecca Sachsenmaier of Asheville.
Richard will be remembered as a fiercely independent soul who lived life on his own terms. He had a deep appreciation for nature, often taking long walks through the woods. He was an excellent cook who found joy in the kitchen, enjoyed playing the guitar, and in his later years, an animated commentator on politics from the comfort of his favorite chair.
A celebration of Richard’s life will take place on his birthday, July 23, in Key West, Florida. This place held special meaning for him, filled with fond memories of fishing and freedom in his early twenties. His family and loved ones will gather there to honor his life, his legacy, and the love he leaves behind.
