Mary Y. Miraldi, 82, of Toms River, NJ, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2021 with her beloved family at her side.
Mary was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Isadore and Felicia (Orobello) Lofaso and was predeceased by her five brothers, three sisters and her loving husband, Rocco, who passed in 2011.
She is survived by her son, Paul Miraldi, her daughter Angela and her husband Anthony Bisogno, and her three grandchildren, Nicholas, Samantha and Jessica Wereszczak.
The youngest of nine children, family meant everything to Mary whether it was the weekly Sunday gatherings at Grandma’s, the weddings, the pasta parties or the family reunions. Her many nieces and nephews were always there for Aunt Mary.
In 1963, Mary met the love of her life when they both worked at L&M. Within a year of their first date, they were married and spent 47 wonderful years together.
Living in Staten Island, Mary was always involved with her childrens’ activities and was a Brownie Leader, Class Mom, and PTA officer. Once Paul and Angela were a little older, she went back to work traveling the New York area, assisting with class portraits for Arden Studios. Shortly after moving to North Brunswick, NJ, Mary worked as a secretary for the township’s Department of Human Services. After she retired to Toms River, Mary and Rocco traveled the world and they especially loved the time they spent in Italy. In Holiday Heights, they made new and lasting friendships and were involved with the Italian American Club of Toms River.
Mary’s happiest moments were spent in the company of her family, especially her greatest joy, her three grandchildren. She loved watching the girls dancing on stage and her grandson swimming at his meets. Mary was always cheering the loudest. She was so proud of them and smiled from ear to ear every time she saw them or talked with them on the phone. She couldn't wait to hear every new detail of their lives.
She loved dancing, cooking, bowling, reading, Atlantic City, mahjong, poker and getting together with her lifelong friends, celebrating special occasions and their milestone birthdays.
