Helen V. (Gallina) Michaud, 87, of Glastonbury and formerly East Hartford, beloved wife for 47 years of the late Conrad Michaud, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Glastonbury Health Care Center. Born in Hartford on May 21, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Angelina (Vignone) Gallina. Helen worked in food service for the East Hartford Public Schools. She enjoyed cooking and was a social butterfly. More than anything, she was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was happiest when she was surrounded by her family. She will be forever missed by her three daughters, Lisa Tobias and husband Joel of Bolton, Lucia Michaud of Ellington and Anne Couture and husband Kenneth of Glastonbury, six adored grandchildren and three cherished great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by her brother, John Gallina and wife Mary of Michigan, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Helen is now reunited with her three sisters, Sylvia, Connie and Josephine. Her family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Glastonbury Health Care Center for the compassionate care given to Helen during her stay.
Calling hours will be Monday (January 13) from 9-10:30 a.m. concluding with a Prayer Service at 10:45 a.m. at the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial will follow in Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. Donations in Helen’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
