Virginia Carol Hand, age 74, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away on May 21, at Fair Haven Nursing Home. Ginger loved Jesus, never held a grudge, never knew unforgiveness, and her smile could light up the room! She loved to work puzzles, play card games, go outside and watch her favorite cartoons! She is preceded in death by her parents, William Glover Hand and Sara Penelopy Hand. Ginger is survived by her brothers William G. Hand, (Sally), James M. Hand, (Wathan); her sister Judith P. Traynor; nephews and nieces. Ginger’s graveside Celebration of Life will be held at Elmwood Cemetery on Tuesday, May 26 at 2pm. Pastor Amy Armistead will preside. Because of the restrictions now in place, there will be a private family ceremony. However, the service will be livestreamed via Johns Ridout's Elmwood Chapel's Facebook page.
