Obituary of Mark Walker
Mark Robert Walker, 63 of Connersville, went to join his loving wife, Sheri Lyn Walker in paradise on Friday, June 19, 2020. Born November 11, 1956 in Connersville, Mark was the eldest of eight children to Bob and Georgia Lou McCullum Walker. Mark graduated from Connersville Senior High School in 1976 and joined the United States Army from 1976 to 1979. In November of 1980, Mark married the love of his life the former Sheri Lyn Minnerick in Connersville. Mark graduated from California College of Health Science becoming a certified respiratory therapist. Mark was an avid fisherman, hunter and loved being in the outdoors. He was a huge baseball fan and formed a strong bond with his son by always talking about baseball. Mark also had a strong bond with his daughter through their love for all animals. He always made sure his brother Rodney was up to date with NASA space news, making sure to call him with all the new reports. Mark loved bonding and staying close with all his siblings through their similar likings. He also loved to call his aunts, Judy and Kristie talking about all the good memories along with staying in touch with his cousins. Most importantly, Mark loved spending time with his grandsons, Camden and Maddox Walker. Mark is survived by his son: Chad Walker and Elizabeth of Indianapolis, daughter: Courtney Walker of Connersville; siblings and spouses: Kent Walker, Bryon Walker and Sherri, Rodney Walker and Diane, Stephen Walker, Beth Ann Moretz and Vaughn all of Connersville, Susan Walker of Indianapolis; grandsons: Camden and Maddox Walker; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mark is preceded in death by his loving wife Sheri Lyn Walker; brother: Jamie Walker. Funeral service will be held on Friday June 26, 2020 at 11 am at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with burial following at Dale Cemetery, Section B. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home from 4 pm to 7 pm Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fayette County Animal Shelter.
