Mark Jeffrey Omerso died suddenly at the age of 47 on January 3, 2021. Mark was born on January 2, 1974 in Derry NH. He spent his childhood in Hampstead and graduated from Central Catholic High School, Lawrence Ma. He attended college in Colorado until his interest turned to cooking. He became a very successful and recognized Executive Chef working from Portland Oregon to New York City to Boston and finally back to his roots in New Hampshire. He enjoyed teaching his niece, Rina, the art of cooking. She fondly called her uncle “MoMo”.
Mark is survived by his mother Joyce Jenkins and step father Jeff Jenkins of Sanbornton NH, his brother and best friend Keith and his wife Eri and niece Rina of Exeter NH. Step brothers Jay Jenkins of Colorado Springs, Co and Michael Jenkins and his wife Hannah of Fremont, Michigan. He is survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mark loved sports and was a natural athlete who played sports throughout his childhood and into high school . He loved watching his favorite teams, Red Sox, Bruins and Patriots. He also had a passion for making bread and loved foraging in the woods. Mark had a great smile and sense of humor that will be greatly missed.
Mark was predeceased by his father Gary Omerso and will be buried along side him in the West Hampstead Cemetery in the Spring. A celebration of life will be held later this year when Covid restrictions are lifted.
In lieu of flowers or a donation, the family asks that you take the time to hug a loved one in the memory of our beloved Mark.
He spent the last 6 months of his life living with his girlfriend Maureen Gordon in their new home in Marlborough NH.
