History

The story of Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes begins in 1964 with the opening of our Seventh Street West funeral home, now known as the west branch. That Seventh Street facility was and remains the only funeral home in the area designed and built specifically for funeral services.

After opening in 1964, Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Home grew rapidly, expanding to East Cornwall. We bought the former Bonneville Funeral Home on First Street and renovated it in 1969. Since that time, what is known as the east branch has grown beyond that original building into the addition of a large memorial chapel and popular reception centre.

Today, as a member of the Dignity Memorial network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers, Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Home is committed to exceeding expectations by crafting celebrations as unique as the loved ones we help celebrate. "In a time of grief, where your mind is overwhelmed and emotions are all over the place, I found that working with the team at Lahaie and Sullivan Cornwall helped remove some stress with the many tasks that needed to be done when someone passes. They were patient and provided clear instructions on how to submit photos, choosing memorial cards, and really listened to ensure they could make the gathering personal and help meet whatever wishes I had. Having them there to provide information and options, not only regarding the funeral arrangements with them, was a great way to complete things that needed to be done while having people who are experts in this subject. They could advise me on how to proceed with the cemetery and flower arrangements as well. The team was caring and kind throughout the whole process from meeting with them for the arrangements as well as each interaction I had with them, even after the service. They include a consultation to help mail out letters to important 3rd parties to close off and cancel accounts for your loved one as well as help apply for government funding. I am extremely happy that I chose to go with them for the arrangements, not only because the gathering was nice but because I could rest assured that they would help me remember everything that needed to be done.
