About

Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Home has provided funeral, cremation and cemetery services to the Cornwall community for more than 50 years. Though our offerings have evolved with the changing demands of the community, our dedication to excellence remains unchanged.

We Celebrate Life

With a light-filled chapel, multipurpose suites, a spacious reception room and professional catering services, Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Home offers many things others do not. All that we do, from the first meeting with a family to support after a funeral, is carefully considered to give comfort and peace of mind. Whether you want a traditional memorial in our large chapel followed by a cemetery burial or a modern celebration of life with live music, favorite food and drinks, and a farewell that reflects the personality and passions of yourself or your loved one, we take care of every detail. We go the extra mile to make the occasion special, taking cues from important things in life to create a heartfelt memorial.

As a modern funeral home, we don’t hesitate to use technology to create a more memorable event for a family and their guests. Our interactive Remember When program creates a richer visitation experience by allowing friends and family members to upload their photos and memories to a dedicated online site. We can also help you create a multimedia presentation to show during a reception. And we offer webcasting, so that friends and family from afar can participate in a funeral.

Pre-Plan With Us

Reception room at Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Home - West BranchFuneral planning can seem overwhelming. Losing a family member is an emotional experience, and grief can make the funeral planning process difficult. Pre-planning final arrangements helps relieve your family of both emotional and financial burdens, and Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Home has a dedicated pre-need councilor who can walk you through the process of creating just the right service, whether your choice is a traditional funeral, a celebration of life or a cremation memorial.

When you pre-plan with us, you get Relocation Protection through the Dignity Memorial® network. That means that if you move more than 120 kilometres from our funeral home, your prearranged services will be honoured at any of the more than 2,000 Dignity Memorial providers throughout North America.

More Benefits

Choosing a Dignity Memorial provider has other benefits as well, including a selection of products and services that only we can offer, including

  • Bereavement travel assistance. When you are grieving a loss, the last thing you want to do is keep up with travel details. We offer travel assistance for family and friends traveling to a funeral from out of town.
  • 24-hour Compassion Helpline®. When you are coping with the loss of a loved one, it often helps to talk to someone—and we understand that. All of the families we serve, and the guests attending the service, are invited to use our complimentary 24-hour phone service to seek assistance from professionals trained in grief counseling.

What’s more, Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall has bilingual service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call us anytime day or night. We are always here for you.

History

The story of Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes begins in 1964 with the opening of our Seventh Street West funeral home, now known as the west branch. That Seventh Street facility was and remains the only funeral home in the area designed and built specifically for funeral services.

After opening in 1964, Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Home grew rapidly, expanding to East Cornwall. We bought the former Bonneville Funeral Home on First Street and renovated it in 1969. Since that time, what is known as the east branch has grown beyond that original building into the addition of a large memorial chapel and popular reception centre.

Today, as a member of the Dignity Memorial network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers, Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Home is committed to exceeding expectations by crafting celebrations as unique as the loved ones we help celebrate. Regardless of the type of service you seek, our goal is to leave an indelible mark of a person’s life.
