About

Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown has served the Greater Austin-area for more than 100 years. We provide a variety of funeral and cremation services as well as personalized memorials and celebrations of life. Cook-Walden also operates 3 cemeteries and has additional locations in Cedar Park, Leander, Round Rock, Westlake and Lago Vista.

Newly renovated and ready to serve you

The Williams Drive funeral home is a beautifully updated space in which to plan and host a memorial. Our chapel seats about 180 guests in traditional pews. A barrel ceiling and exposed wood beams draw the eye upward and give the space a stately feel. A large reception room is filled with natural light during the day. With tables and chairs and plenty of space to set up a buffet, the room is transformed anew as we plan something unique for each family. Food, drinks, live music, flowers and custom decor create a relaxed opportunity to talk about good times and remember a loved one—it’s how we help turn comfort into a memorable memorial.

Let’s celebrate life

Reception Room at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral HomeWe believe every person’s life is unique and deserves to be celebrated in a unique way. Our team is skilled at creating one-of-a-kind tributes that honor and celebrate a loved one’s passions, individuality and personality.

With an attentive team who is dedicated to going the extra mile for every family, there is almost no limit to what we can plan for you or your loved one. Did she adore vintage clothing and furniture? Imagine a tribute where guests are allowed to "shop" from racks of her favorite hats, scarves and dresses. Did he excel on the tennis court? We can decorate the event space with nets and rackets and give family and friends personalized tennis balls to take home. We’ve turned the funeral home into a mecca for UT and Aggie fans, and we’ve rolled motorcycles and more right into our chapel. If you can imagine it, we’ll try to do it.

Of course, if you prefer something more traditional, we are experts in that, too.

Cremation services

Not everyone knows that there are many cremation options. If you are interested in cremation, the funeral home team can explain the process and the different memorial and burial choices. From a direct cremation without a service or a witness to a full funeral service before or after the cremation and more, we help you understand this increasingly common decision.

History

Lobby at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral HomeIn 1911 Davis Funeral Home opened at the corner of 7th and Main in Georgetown to serve central Texas families. As the business grew, the funeral home relocated to 601 Austin Avenue, where it remained for decades.

During those years, Davis Funeral Home was known for its ambulance service providing emergency medical care and trained technicians to the community. Following the Great Depression, they introduced yet another innovation, their Burial Association—a low-cost insurance plan designed to protect a family’s hard-earned savings in the event of a death.

Continuing legacy

In 1973, the Davis Funeral Home relocated to its current site at 2900 Williams Drive, where the beautiful brick Colonial building stands as a constant reminder of the Davis legacy.

Charles Walden purchased the funeral home from the Davis family in 1978, and changed the name to Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in 1996. Today, the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home proudly offers families in the Greater Georgetown area an ever-growing array of exclusive benefits and services.
