The Woodlands is known for its tall pines and lush, green landscape. So, too is Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery. Spread across 20 thoughtfully developed acres, the memorial park is a place of quiet reflection, with two sparkling ponds and the elevated grounds of Lakeview Ridge, accessible through gated entries. Here, you will find peace in a setting that feels timeless and natural.

Ways to remember

There are many ways to honor a loved one within the cemetery’s serene grounds. Private estates are elegant examples, framed by stone borders and shaded by mature cypress and oak trees. Broad paths wind through the property, leading to cremation gardens or burial grounds where families may choose flat markers or upright memorials.

Forest Park The Woodlands features two mausoleums. One includes an airy, light-filled chapel that can seat 75 guests; the other has a less formal atmosphere and comfortable seating. Both have spaces for urns, with options for traditional granite-front niches or glass-front niches that invite displays of personal items.

A place for all faiths

Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery is committed to serving families from all walks of life. The cemetery includes a walled Jewish garden with stone and wrought-iron gates and a dedicated Muslim garden. Each has been designed with care and respect, offering families a resting place that reflects their heritage and faith traditions.

Rooted in The Woodlands community

We know that honoring a loved one goes beyond the day of the service. Throughout the year, we welcome our neighbors to gatherings that bring connection and hope.

On Memorial Day weekend, local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts troops join us to place flags on the graves and memorials of military service members. The ceremony includes patriotic words from community leaders and Veterans of Foreign Wars members. Our staff serves grilled hot dogs and snow cones to the 500 guests who attend the two-day tribute. It’s a heartfelt tradition that blends remembrance and fellowship.

Each December, we host a holiday service. The gathering offers support through a season that can feel especially difficult after a loss. Every guest gets a commemorative ornament as a keepsake—a small but meaningful reminder that love lives on.

No matter the time of year, we invite you to visit us and see how we’re different. We’d love to get to know you.

The history of Forest Park

Entrance at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home & CemeteryThe Forest Park brand family began as a single cemetery in 1922. Starting in the 1950s, it was transformed into a full-service funeral and cemetery provider. It later became part of the Dignity Memorial® network, while preserving strong local ties and a heritage of excellence.

Real estate pioneer George Mitchell imagined a thriving community where city life and nature could coexist harmoniously. That vision became The Woodlands—one of Houston’s most distinctive neighborhoods, known for its lush pine forests and thoughtful design.

As part of his master plan, George envisioned a funeral home and cemetery that would match the community’s beauty and provide a lasting place of remembrance. He partnered with Service Corporation International to bring that vision to life: Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery opened in November 1995.

What began as 13 acres of serene and graceful grounds has grown to 20, with nearly 80 additional acres preserved for future generations.
