We collaborate closely with each family to celebrate life.

The spacious chapel at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home seats approximately 200 guests, and we encourage you to add special touches—photos, mementos, decor—to tell a loved one’s story.

History

Reception room at Forest Park - The Woodlands Funeral HomeReal estate visionary George Mitchell dreamed of a vibrant forest in the city. That dream became the prominent Houston neighborhood known as The Woodlands. Part of George's master plan was a funeral home and cemetery. He chose the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery providers to partner with on his unique vision, which was based upon a design that kept a percentage of the cemetery property undeveloped, thus preserving the natural beauty of the piney Texas woods.

On November 30, 1995, the gates to Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home and Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery opened to reveal a funeral home and cemetery almost unparalleled in its beauty and serene setting.

As the population of The Woodlands has grown, so has the cemetery. What started as 13 acres is now 20. Nearly 80 more are set aside for future development to serve generations to come.

Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery

Cemetery grounds at Forest Park - The Woodlands CemeteryWithin the 20 developed acres of Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery, you will find 2 sparkling reflection ponds and Lakeview Ridge, which has 2 gated entry points.

There are many ways to honor a loved one at the cemetery. Gated private estates are stunning examples of landscape design. The areas have stone borders and mature cypress and oak trees. Broad cobblestone paths wind around the property, leading to cremation gardens or burial grounds with flat markers and upright memorials.

Mausoleum options and more

Mausoleum at Forest Park - The Woodlands CemeteryForest Park The Woodlands Cemetery has 2 mausoleums. One seats 75 guests in an airy, light-filled chapel. The other has couches and chairs for a more informal gathering. They offer traditional granite-front cremation niches as well as glass-front niches for personalized memorials that highlight a unique spirit. Just think: a mischievously smiling Garfield cookie jar guarding the final resting place of a young fan or a pile of costume jewels and lipsticks for a woman who was distinctly glamorous. We provide a place for creative expression that last generations.

Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery endeavors to serve all faiths. Walls made of stone appointed with elegant wrought-iron gates surround the beautiful Jewish garden. We opened an elegant Muslim garden more than a decade ago.

Caring for The Woodlands

Both Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home and Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery remember those who have come before us in numerous ways.

On Memorial Day weekend, we invite Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts troops to help us place flags on each military serviceperson’s grave or memorial. Several members of local government and the Veterans of Foreign Wars give patriotic speeches, and our teams serve grilled hot dogs and snow cones to around 500 attendees each year.

On the 1st Saturday in December, we hold a holiday remembrance service for client families and friends. This event helps people through that difficult holiday season without their loved ones and is a message of hope. Guests get commemorative ornaments as keepsakes.
