Marion Lewis Miller, 89, of Ames, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at Accura Healthcare. A graveside service will be 10:00 am, Saturday, July 25, 2020, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Oakland, Iowa.
Marion was born in Oakland, Iowa on June 24, 1931, to Elmer and Ina (Killion) Miller.
Left to cherish Marion’s memory is his sister, Cheradel Althouse, sister in law, Joleen Miller, nephews Michael (Tammy) Miller, and Thomas (Laura Miller), Nieces, Cheryl (Wayne) Barden, Michele (George) Harris, Carol Althouse and numerous great and great, great nieces and nephews. Preceeded in death by brother, Terry F. Miller; nephew, David Miller and brother in law, Jerry Althouse.
Marion served in the Korean War as a Surveyor in the Engineer Corp of the Army surveyor. His knowledge of surveying led to a lengthy career with the Iowa Department of Transportation. Marion enjoyed traveling, golf, dancing and gardening. He was a member of North Grand Christian Church. Uncle Marion made Accura Healthcare his home for the past three years. He loved the staff and they him. We are extremely grateful for the care and kindness shown to Uncle Marion during his time at Accura.
