Ann was a delightful mother and endless supporter of three children and their families, Jim Keith of Stuttgart, Germany, Stephen Keith of Apex, and Linda Chadwick of Raleigh. One of her greatest joys was sharing in the life of her grandchildren Sarah, Grace, and Kristina. Ann is survived by her aforementioned family as well as by her brother, Wayne Miller of Pensacola Florida and his wife and their children and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Nina Miller of Salisbury. She loved all her new and old friends from Salisbury, Winston-Salem, and Apex.
Ann was known as a sweet and endearing woman who loved others like Jesus does. She enjoyed raising children immensely and shared a passion for their development, establishing her own day care home and receiving an Early Childhood Certificate in 2003 in Winston-Salem.
After graduating from Boyden High School in Salisbury in 1957 and receiving a Bachelor’s of Music from Greensboro Women’s College (UNCG) in 1961, she taught music at St. Andrews College, Raeford public schools, and Speas Elementary School in Winston-Salem. During her days of playing the bass in the Winston-Salem Symphony, she met and married Wesley Keith. The entire family committed to Jesus Christ and fellowshipped at College Park Baptist Church. Ann began life in Apex in 2008. She quickly became involved with Apex Baptist Church, the senior group at the Apex community Center, and the Peak City Senior Singers, and made many wonderful friends. She always had a heart of service, and volunteered at Spring Arbor of Apex.
We will miss Ann very much on this side of life, and we look forward to reuniting with her again with Jesus as He has said, “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you, for I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I come again, that where I am, you may be also.” John 14:2-3.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 23, 2013 at 1:00 PM with a reception to follow the services at Apex Baptist Church 110 S. Salem St A second service followed by a graveside service will be held at Franklin Baptist Church 3810 Highway 601 in Salisbury, and Rowan Memorial Park on Saturday, August 24, at 1pm.
