Barbara Pruitt Barbour

Barbara was born on December 3, 1943 in Fuquay Varina, NC to the late Leman and Angia Pruitt. Barbara retired from BellSouth in 1996 after 34 years of service. Her retirement lasted three months before she was bored and realized she wanted to work again. She discovered retail and her knack for being great at sales with her charming personality. She worked in retail until she had her first grandchild and jumped at the opportunity to be their daytime nanny. Barbara can be remembered as someone who loved to laugh, loved to make others smile and did not know a stranger.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Walter and her brother, Vernon Pruitt.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Angie Guydish (Chris); grandchildren, Avery and Aiden; sister, Linda Cotten (Donald); brothers, Roy Pruitt (Jeanine) and Glenn Pruitt; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will take place on Friday, December 16, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Apex Funeral Home with a celebration of life service to follow at 2:00 PM. Barbara will be laid to rest at Rolesville Baptist Church Cemetery in Rolesville, NC.

In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be donated to either Susan G. Komen or Alzheimer’s Association.
