

Dale Wendell Dixon, 51, of 6617 Sunset Lake Rd., Fuquay-Varina, returned home to be with his Lord on Friday, July 13, 2012. He was born in Little Washington, NC on October 7, 1960 to Horace “Red” Dixon of Apex, NC and the late Betty Lou Dixon.
As a youth, Dale grew up in North Raleigh where he attended and graduated from Sanderson High School and continued his education with Wake Technical Community College. At the age of 22, Dale married the love of his life, Angela Holland. His Family meant more to him than any other worldly possession ever could have. He loved to cook and share meals as a family as well as coaching his son Andrew’s AAU Basketball team or helping David to cook up some BBQ that took “1st in Taste” during the Apex Peakfest of 2003. Dale also exhibited his love for his family by showing and teaching them how to serve a loving God in Heaven. Dale loved the Lord. He was a very active participant with Apex Baptist Church where he served in such roles as; Awana Leader, 2nd Grade Sunday School Teacher, a Yokefellow, he also participated with the Prison Ministry and following a tragic accident that occurred on his 20th Anniversary with Angela, he continued to serve to his greatest capacity as Prayer Team Member.
Following Dale’s accident, Angela retired from her career as an RN and came home to be with, and care for Dale full time. Their love and example of strength continued to grow over this last 9 years and will continue to stretch on into all of eternity.
Dale is survived by his wife Angela Holland Dixon of Fuquay-Varina, NC; sons Andrew Ward Dixon of Apex, NC and David Wendell Dixon of the home; grandchildren, Alexis Michelle Dixon and Landon Jackson Dixon; father, Horace “Red” Dixon of Apex, NC; sister Sue Dixon Kasopsky and spouse Mike of Apex, NC; sister in law, Carol Dixon of Wendell, NC; and many loving nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother, Betty Lou Dixon and brother, Gary Ward Dixon.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Apex Baptist Church 110 South Salem St., Apex, NC 27502. His family will receive friends Monday, July 16, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. in Apex. A Private Cremation Ceremony will be held at a later time.
