Dorothy Jean Bell

Dorothy Jean was born August 8, 1931 in Kouts, IN to the late Robert Daniel Cook and Avia Bertha Casey.

She enjoyed watching the Saint Louis Cardinals Baseball Team, crocheting and playing cards, specifically canasta.

Dorothy Jean was a dedicated member of the Walnut Street Church of Christ in Cary, NC.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Sammie O. Bell.

Dorothy Jean is survived by her sister, JoNell Bingham and her husband Eural of Seffner, FL; her daughters, Linda Sue “Susie” Miller and her husband, Tom of Schererville, IN; Amy Bell Claxton and her husband, Ron of Garner; and Patti Claxton and her husband, Lance of Hobart, IN; son, Terry Bell and his wife, Mary of Corona, CA; grandchildren, Jonna Claxton, Amanda Shore and her husband Kevin, Michael Claxton, Lisa Perkio and her husband Jake, Jeffrey Claxton and Samantha Bell and two great grandchildren, Elizabeth "Ellie" Shore and Jacqueline "Jax" Shore.

The family will receive friends at Apex Funeral Home, Thursday, June 20 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. A funeral service will be held Friday, June 21 at 10:30 am at Apex Funeral Home Chapel, 550 W. Williams St., Apex, NC 27502. Burial will follow the service at Apex Cemetery.
