Ed was born September 28, 1947 to the late Edward Older Edney Jr. and Kathleen MacNamee Edney.
Ed is survived by his wife of 42 years, the love of his life, Suzanne Edney; and 4 beloved sisters, Karen Faulkner, Lauren E. Kirkland, Kyle E. Gray and Kathleen E . Pedersen.
Ed received his Ph.D in Physics, UNC Chapel Hill '78 and his undergraduate from The American University '72. His career at the US Environmental Protection Agency focused on atmospheric research. Ed's passion led to findings which helped in healing our deteriorating ozone layer and in creating corrective measures for acid rain. In the late 90's Ed, and a close colleague, identified that Epoxides play an important role in atmospheric chemistry thus making our air safer to breathe. Ed truly left this world better than he found it.
