Eric Matthew Oliver, 49, died Sunday, Jul 21, 2013 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh after a long illness. Born in Staunton, VA on December 12, 1963, he was the son of Carol Humphries Oliver and the late Malcolm M. Oliver. He is survived by his mother, Carol, his sons, Christopher Oliver and Kyle Oliver, his brother and his wife, Sam and Carole Oliver, his sister Kim Oliver, his sister and husband Laura and Craig Harwood, his sister and husband Andrea and Chris Stewart and 7 nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Cary High School, and was a long-time member of Calvary Chapel church. His interests included spending time with family and friends, church activities, cooking, and N.C. State athletics.
The family will receive friends 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Friday, July 26, 2013 at Apex Funeral Home in Apex, with a memorial service to be held immediately afterwards at 3 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Raleigh Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 27391, Raleigh, NC 27611.
