Gail Vanderlip Townsend

She was a caring person who enjoyed helping others and was very active in her church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and friend and will be missed greatly.

Gail is survived by husband of 46 years, James Warren Townsend; daughters, Laura Townsend Feather (Clifford) of Apex, and Amy Townsend DeLoach (John Wilson) of Savannah, GA; grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Feather, Clifford James Feather, John Wilson Malloy DeLoach, Jr. and Elizabeth Malloy DeLoach; parents, Charles and Ida Vanderlip of Apex; brother, David Bradford Vanderlip (Sharon) of Raleigh; sister, Wanda Vanderlip Abbott (Andy) of Apex; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 3, 2012 at 11:00 am at Olive Chapel Baptist Church, 600 New Hill Olive Chapel Rd, Apex, NC. Burial in the Olive Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery will immediately follow. Visitation will be held prior to the service and will begin at 9:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assn. or the Olive Chapel Baptist Church Missionary and Ministry Fund.
