She married William J. Tapp, Jr. in Charleston, WV in 1946. He preceded her in 2004, after 58 years together. She attended the University of Kentucky. She was a master weaver and had exhibited her work at the N.Y. Museum of Art and at both Bloomingdales and Lord & Taylor’s in NY City.
She is survived by her son William J. Tapp III and his wife Debra of Raleigh, NC; granddaughter Heather Tapp of Raleigh, grandsons, Chris Houston and fiancée Kelly Gruenhagen of Raleigh, Brandon Houston and wife Dana of Middlesex, NC, and two great grandsons, Hunner and Tucker Houston of Middlesex, NC.
She made us promise “No tears or sad thoughts”. So, per her wishes, there will be a celebration of her life at a later date.
