Jessica Pittard Simpson, 32, wife, mother and treasured friend to many, passed away February 28, 2018 at her home in Apex, NC.
Jessica was born in Wilson, NC on December 30, 1985 to Hart and Donna Pittard. After graduating from Fike High School, Jessica received degrees in Anthropology and Nursing from UNC-Wilmington, and graduated nursing school from Wake Tech in 2013. She married her best friend, Julian Simpson, on March 26, 2013. They shared their lives and love with two daughters, Katarina and Lilith, who still carry her light and warmth.
Jessica was a skilled ICU nurse at WakeMed who set an unmatched example of thorough patient care and team spirit. If you were lucky enough to know her, you knew you always had a friend to call on. She was fiercely loyal, unafraid to speak her mind, and had a way of making those around her feel unconditionally loved and protected.
Jessica is survived by a close family: her husband, Julian, two daughters, Kat (4) and Lily (2), her parents, Hart Pittard and Donna Pittard, her brother, Brandon Pittard, and numerous family members and friends.
Jessica’s life and impact will be celebrated with a memorial service at Apex Funeral Home, 550 West Williams Street, Apex, NC, on Saturday, March 10 at 3pm.
One last thing: Love your family, hug your dog, pour a cold one, put on your favorite song and enjoy your one precious life. That is what Jess would wish for you.
