Junius Earl Maynard

Earl was born November 24, 1940 in Wake County to the late Walter and Eva Maynard. After graduating Apex High School he followed his passion as a carpenter, building homes in the Triangle area for over 50 years. Earl was a lifelong fisherman and rabbit hunter. He enjoyed life fully and never missed an opportunity to dance to country music.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ricky; brother, Alton; and sister Katie Sue.

Earl is survived by his wife of 24 years, Lillie Chappell; sons, Donald Ray Maynard and Christopher Daniel Maynard (Alison); step-sons, Christopher Chappell (Emily) and Michael Chappell; sisters, Martha Mitchell; Kitty Lou Pope (Charles) brother, Eugene Maynard (Anna); and many loving grandchildren, Lydia Elyse Chappell, Christopher William Maynard, Alexander Chase Maynard and Joshua Ryan Maynard.

A funeral service will be held 2pm Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Good Hope Baptist Church, 6630 Good Hope Church Road, Cary, NC 27519. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8pm Friday, November 2, 2018 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St, Apex, NC 27502.
