

Lyla Holland Gabler, devoted wife and mother, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at the age of 70. She was born October 6, 1941, to Roy and Josephine Holland in Marietta, OH. She resided in Fayetteville, NC for thirty-five years, until moving to Apex, NC in 2012 to be close to her family.
Lyla was a devoted mother and enjoyed spending time with her five children and nine grandchildren. She worked in the insurance industry for Carolina Regional Radiology in Fayetteville, NC. During retirement, Lyla enjoyed international and domestic travel, gardening, cooking, yoga, shopping, walking, and biking. She was also a member of Saint Patrick's Catholic Church.
Lyla is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Jack T. Gabler; son, Scott Gabler & wife Doris; daughter, Jodi Strickland & husband Mitch; son, Brian Gabler & wife Zoya; son, David Gabler & wife Amy; daughter, Karla Fulghum & husband Matt; grandchildren: Ray Gabler, Jack Strickland, Joseph Strickland, Maya Gabler, Ivan Gabler, Ella Gabler, Meghan Gabler, Lyla Fulghum, and Josephine Fulghum. She will also be dearly missed by many loving family members and friends.
A funeral mass will be celebrated to honor Lyla's life on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church, 2844 Village Drive Fayetteville, NC 28304. Immediately following the ceremony, the family will host a reception at Luigi's Restaurant. A private cremation ceremony has taken place through Apex Funeral Home.
