Miriam Prince Pinkerton passed away September 24, 2013 in Wilmington, NC. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Walter “Pink” Pinkerton. She was born in Raleigh and lived there until retiring happily to Oak Island, NC.
As a profession she was an award winning floral designer. After her children were grown, she furthered her interest and talent becoming an award winning artist. Her art has appeared in exhibitions, galleries, public and private collections. She was awarded signature membership in the Southern Watercolor Society and the Watercolor Society of NC.
She is survived by her daughters: Lynne P. Holliman of Cary, and Joyce P. Pettengill of Willow Springs; son: Randy Pinkerton and wife, Benita of Raleigh; grandchildren: Laura L. Sharp, Richard Pettengill, Julie Pettengill, Angela Pettengill, Beth Pinkerton, and Sarah Pinkerton; 6 great grandchildren; and a sister: Carolyn P. Buffaloe.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 pm Friday, September 27, 2013 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St., Apex.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Macedonia UMC, 2700 Jones Franklin Rd., Cary, N.C. 27518. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
