Peter Guenther Josef Haase

Peter Guenther Josef Haase, 77, passed away peacefully at his home in Cary on Monday morning, March 30, surrounded by family. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Judith; along with two children; Steffanie Haase of North Bergen, NJ, and Eric and Brandi Haase of Durham, NC; a brother; Alexander Haase of New Smyrna Beach, FL; and a niece; Kellie Yancey of Tampa, FL.

Born on July 26, 1937, in Berlin, Germany, Peter was the son of the late Maria and Guenther Haase. He spent his adolescence in Berlin, Dresden, and Frankfurt before relocating to Buffalo, NY, where Peter attended Amherst H.S. (setting soccer scoring records) and the University of Buffalo, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a master’s degree in business administration. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and enjoyed a long and prosperous career with New York Telephone in New York City.

Peter’s pastimes included the Architectural committee at Carolina Preserves, wine tasting, starting to tap dance, golfing, reading, playing cards, travel, and anything having to do with the Buffalo Bills.

Memorial service and reception to be held on the 17th of May 2015 at 2:00pm Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams Street, Apex, NC 27502.
