Ralph Anthony Roberto Sr.

Ralph Anthony Roberto Sr.,76, born in Mount Vernon, New York on June 18, 1946, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, May 9, 2023. He was a previous resident of Wappingers Falls, New York before retiring to Apex, North Carolina.

He is preceded by his wife, June Roberto; parents, Thomas Roberto and Charlotte (Rossi) Roberto; as well as his brothers Joseph Roberto and Thomas Roberto.

Ralph is survived by his three children, Skip and spouse Tracy of Port Orange, Florida, Christine and spouse Chris of Hopewell Junction, New York, as well as Colleen and spouse Carter of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Chelsea (spouse Branden), Madison, Mackenzie, Cameron, and Connor; nieces, Kim Louise, spouse Paul and children Bobby and Tommy, AnnMarie, spouse Keith and children Gavin, Ella, and Alexa, and Tiffany (spouse Evan) and nephew Peter, as well as his sister-in-law Kim Roberto, who always kept him full of food and laughter. Ralph is also survived by the many, many friends who he made throughout his lifetime.

Ralph enjoyed working and helping others. After finishing his service in the United States Navy, Ralph worked as a switchman for the New York Telephone until retirement; however, he could not sit still for long as he continued taking on some odd jobs, including officiating his granddaughter's wedding last October. He especially enjoyed his time at Food Lion; talking with customers, giving advice, and goofing around with the children who strolled into his check-out line.

Ralph knew how to fill a room with love and laughter just by entering it. He loved to meet new people and within minutes would be talking like friends he'd known all his life. He had a special way of making lifelong connections with those he met by being his goofy, loving and positive self.

The family welcomes those who would like to celebrate Ralph's wonderful life. Following the service at Apex Funeral Home at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 12, 2023, there will be a gathering at his daughter, Colleen's, house at 200 Vuncannon Drive, Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina 27526.
