

A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Olive Chapel Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Olive Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00-8:00 PM Friday, April 1, 2016 at Apex Funeral Home.
A native of Wake County, Richard was the son of the late William Howard Jenks and Pansie Morris Jenks. He graduated from Lillington High School. He was a farmer all his life. Richard is survived by his wife of 60 years, Monnie O'Quinn Jenks, his son, Richard (Dubie) Jenks, Jr. (Robin), daughters, Sonya J. Fowler (Gary) all of Apex and Penny J. Vannoy (John) of Boynton Beach, FL. Pa had 7 grandchildren: Natalie Hunter of Apex, Casey Hunter of New Hill, Laurel Jenks, Andy Jenks, both of Apex, Wes Hunter of New Hill, Amanda Pacinelli and Jenna P. Brouillette (Dillon) of Boynton Beach, FL, brother, Albert Jenks of Broadway, and sister, Pat Baumgarten (Dan) of Wilmington.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Howard (Plug) Jenks.
Richard's passions included his love for his family, friends, his church, Wake County Farm Bureau and farming. He was past President of Wake County Farm Bureau. He was also an active member of Olive Chapel Baptist Church, where he served as deacon numerous times.
