Robert "Bobby" Ray Pittard

Bobby was born October 21, 1934 in the Carpenter Community of Wake County to the late Henry M. Pittard and Ceola Hurst Pittard. He was a graduate of Apex High School and NC State University. Bobby was a veteran of the NC Army National Guard. He started his career at Moncure High School as a teacher and basketball coach. Bobby was a math, science teacher and basketball coach at Apex High School where he retired in 1976. He was also a lifelong farmer in the Carpenter Community and a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. Bobby was a good neighbor and friend to all and will be sorely missed.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Vernon Pittard.

Bobby is survived by sister-in-law, Alice Ashby Pittard; and several cousins; and good friends, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Phillips and Melissa Cokely.

A Graveside Service will be held 2pm Monday, November 21, 2016 at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, 6630 Good Hope Church Rd, Cary, NC 27519 with Rev. Josh Franklin officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8pm Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St, Apex, NC 27502.
