In 1952 my family moved into a house down the street from Bob’s house. He was three and I was eight years old. As we grew up, he became my unofficial little brother. We shared some major interests....exploring nearby woods and swamps, fishing, and hunting for snakes, lizards, turtles, rabbits and possums. As adults, we went our separate ways but stayed in touch through occasional letters. He was one of the kindest, gentlest persons I have ever known. I will miss him.

In loving memory of Robert Tate Murray III, someone so special will not be forgotten. I believe Bob had a profound effect on everyone he met. He was a good Christian and kind and caring of others. I was truly blessed to have met Bob. I pray his family will be comforted knowing he is in God's presence.

Bob was my neighbor across the road for the past 19 years. We shared many ideas, and had great conversations throughout the years. As mentioned above he was definitely one of a kind. If I recall correctly, he served in the Air Force in Vietnam.

I am honored that he referred to me as a friend.
