Van D. Preslar ,64, of Raleigh, died Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at his home in Raleigh. Van was born November 9, 1953 in Wake County, NC to the late Gilbert Harold Preslar, Jr. and Reca Mae Medlin Preslar.
He was a graduate of the University of Mississippi and was a retired Capt. of the US Army. Van was employed as the Director of Information Technology for the NC Department of Labor retiring with over ten years of service.
Van is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Diane Wright Preslar; sons, Mark Preslar and wife, Nicki and Michael Preslar; sisters, Wilma Franklin and her husband, Philip, and Cathy Preslar; brother, Gilbert Preslar, III; and niece, Andrea Franklin.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 4 p.m., Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St., Apex. The family will receive guests immediately following the service.
