Willa Grey Jones Pierce

Willa Grey Pierce of Willow Spring passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, March 17, 2014 surrounded by her daughters. She was born in Wake County, NC on December 9, 1925, the daughter of the late William Aldridge Jones and Amaryllis Abbott Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth G. Pierce, and brother, William C. (Billy) Jones.

She is survived by her daughters, Martha (Marti) Kerr and husband Felix of Willow Spring and Ginny Koblitz and husband, Doug of Aberdeen, sister, Louise Olive of New Hill. Grandchildren, Brian Johnson (Paula), Dustin Kerr, Doug Koblitz (Emily), Courtney Reheiser (Jason) and Whitney Koblitz. Great grandchildren, Kyle, Caleb, Gabriella, Elizabeth, Haylie, Koby, Mya, Aspen, Aiden and Tyler.

A graduate of Fuquay High School and Hardbarger Business College, she was retired from Dorothea Dix Hospital and Johnson Optometric in Garner, NC. Willa was a faithful servant to her church, Swift Creek Baptist Church, as long as her health permitted and a “Ma” to everyone she knew, especially the children in her life.

We would like to thank the Staff at Greenleaf Assisted Living in Lillington and the Staff at Hospice of Wake County for their dedicated and loving care of mother.

The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams Street, Apex, NC 27502.
