She was born November 25, 1973 in Ghana to Mr. Edwin Bedzra and Mrs. Elizabeth Kpeli-Bedzra. Winnie grew up in Akosombo, but acquired most of her education and nursing training in the Volta region in Ghana. She spent most of her adult life working as a physician’s assistant at Wisdom Specialist Hospital in Kumasi, Ghana. Her deep faith in God, and her unlimited love for humanity, was obvious in the way she treated everyone she came across, especially the numerous patients she provided care for at the hospital she worked. She developed a personal relationship with each of her patients and did not only provide them with medical care but also counseled them, motivated and prayed with them to lift up their spirits. Most of her friends always called on her for emotional support and spiritual guidance whenever they were faced with personal challenges, and she was always available for them and eager to help. She was the most loving, caring, selfless and God fearing person you could ever have on your side in times of need and we will forever miss her.
Winnie had recently moved from Ghana to join her husband in Durham, North Carolina when she suddenly and tragically passed away. She left behind her loving husband Fredie Aidoo, both parents, Edwin and Elizabeth Bedzra, and her six siblings: Seth, Emma, George, Dela, Obed, and Vivian. She meant so much to all her family and friends and she will be dearly missed by all. She was one in a million, and as we mourn her loss today, we pray to God for strength and guidance to survive this world without our loving angel Winnie. May the Lord bless her soul and give her everlasting peace in heaven.
